5 Day Challenge Day #1

5 Day Challenge Thread
Let's get right to your first challenge, shall we?!
Your challenge today is to scrap a page using strips and squares and 2 or more photos!! You can do your own thing or follow the tutorial that I have included!
You will need:
- a base piece of cardstock to work on
- patterned paper or solid cardstock (or both!)
- paper trimmer or scissors and a ruler
- photos
- misc embellishments
- A scrappy attitude
Let's get started!
You are going to start by cutting your patterned paper into strips. You can choose thick or thin or a combination of both. Cut about 10-12 so you have plenty to work with.
Next you are going to cut 1" strips from either your patterned paper or cardstock or both. Once you have a few strips cut those into 1" squares.
Now comes the fun part! You have a pile of pieces to play with, so start laying them out on your page in whatever configuration looks good to you! Move them around! Try lots of different ideas! Try using them all or just a few! Play, play, play!
Here are a few examples that I tried out:

After moving things around (a lot!) this is my finished page. I criss crossed my strips and added my squares as borders. I dressed it up a bit by adding embellishments, a title and a journaling spot for the story.
